Solar panels for your home

All-black panels sized to your roof and your bills, fitted by our own local team, with the SEAI grant worked out on your quote.

What you get

  • Jinko Tiger Neo panels, 470 W or 500 W: N-type, all-black, dual-glass, and about 23.5% efficient (470 W model). They hold their output well in heat.
  • A hybrid inverter: Sigenergy SigenStor on systems of 7 kW and above, Solis S6 on smaller ones. Both are ready for a battery, now or later.
  • Solrmount PRO roof mounting, fitted to suit slate or tile.
  • An app that shows what the system is making and what your home is using.
  • ESB Networks notified for you (an NC6 form, or an NC7 application for larger systems).

How big a system?

We size the system from your bills and your roof, not a standard package. Many homes in the Midlands end up with 12 to 20 panels. Our calculator gives you a guide in a minute; the survey gives the real answer.

What it saves

Every unit of solar you use in the house is a unit you don’t buy, at about 33c in October 2026. What you don’t use goes to the grid, and your supplier pays you for it: 18.5c to 19.5c per kWh across the main suppliers in October 2026. A battery moves more of your solar into the evening, when you need it.

Questions we’re asked

Do solar panels work well in Ireland?
Yes. Panels make electricity from daylight, not heat, so they work on cloudy days too, just less. SEAI says a well-placed 3 kWp system makes about 2,600 kWh a year in Ireland, with about three-quarters of that between May and September.
My roof faces north, or it’s shaded. Can I still have solar?
East and west roofs work well. North roofs make noticeably less, so we only recommend them if the design shows it’s worth it. A garage roof or a ground-mount array is often the better answer.
Do I need planning permission?
Not for panels on the roof of a house, whatever the size, as long as they’re at least 50 cm from the edge of the roof and no more than 15 cm above it. Protected structures and architectural conservation areas are different, and we check that at the survey.
How long do panels last?
Panels last 25 years or more with very little maintenance. The inverter is the part most likely to need replacing during the system’s life. Warranty terms are on the datasheet and confirmed on your proposal.
