For your home
- Panels: €700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp, then €200 per kWp up to 4 kWp. A typical 16-panel system gets the full €1,800.
- New: €600 for a battery of 5 kWh or more. Up to €2,400 with panels. SEAI accepts battery-only applications.
- Homes built and lived in before 2025 (it used to be before 2021). One solar grant per home (MPRN).
Up to €9,000 on a qualifying payment
- Up to €8,400 for panels, or €9,000 with a battery, for homeowners on certain social welfare payments such as Fuel Allowance or Working Family Payment.
- SEAI publishes the full list and checks eligibility.
- You choose the installer and the system.
Businesses, farms, schools and community groups
- Up to 45% of the cost, to a maximum of €325,200, for new applications from 6 October 2026 to 6 July 2027.
- Applications made before 6 October aren’t increased.
- Grants over €10,000 in a year need a Tax Clearance Certificate.
Farms: TAMS
- TAMS solar pays 60%, but only about 1 in 10 recent applications were selected, and the farmhouse is excluded.
- For many farms the SEAI 45% grant is the surer route until July 2027.
How the home grant works
- Free survey and a fixed written price.
- You apply online to SEAI and wait for your Letter of Offer. We help you with every step.
- We install, usually in 1–2 days, and notify ESB Networks.
- Certification, a post-works BER and the grant paperwork. SEAI pays the grant to you once the works are complete.
Grants are decided by SEAI, not by Clear Sky Energy. Amounts are those published by SEAI on the date above and can change. Apply before any work starts.
