Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Our aim
We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Every page works with a keyboard, images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and motion stops if your device is set to reduce motion.
How we test it
On 14 October 2026 we checked every page with the axe-core automated accessibility test at desktop and phone sizes, and fixed everything it found. We also step through the survey form with a keyboard and with JavaScript switched off. Automated tests don’t catch every problem, so we also check pages by hand when we change them.
Things we know about
- The moving list of towns on the home page has a pause button, and doesn’t move at all if your device asks for reduced motion.
- Charts in the calculators carry text labels, and the main figures are also set out in a table under each result.
